How long can the corona virus survive on the surface?

After the outbreak of the Corona virus (COVID-19) in Wuhan City, China, on December 25, the number of people infected with the virus worldwide is increasing rapidly due to the deadly infectious nature of the virus. The World Health Organization (WHO) has already declared the Novel Corona virus an epidemic, with more than one million people worldwide infected with the virus and more than four thousand dead. As the Novel Corona virus continues to grow, everyone is avoiding traveling and even getting their hands on it. The corona virus is spreading rapidly through the air and spreads even if the infected person touches something or comes in contact with a healthy person.

Studies have shown that the virus lasts four hours on copper, 24 hours on cardboard and in plastic and stainless steel for up to two days. However, this study has not yet been reviewed by other scientists. Another similar study, published in the Journal of Hospital Infection, concluded that human coronary viruses, such as MARS, SARS and corona viruses or endemic human coronary viruses, can survive on lifeless surfaces for glass, plastic or metal for up to nine days.

These viruses can be inactivated with disinfectants, which contain 12-5 percent ethanol, 1.5 percent hydrogen peroxide, or 1.5 percent sodium hypochlorite in a minute. Currently, there is no vaccine to protect against the corona virus. Therefore, to prevent the disease, we must follow some general personal hygiene practices, such as frequent washing of soap and water. If you are sick, wear a mask and avoid touching it.
